The Western church learned to read the Bible through a materialist lens. We kept the creedal core but let the oddities of the biblical world, the sons of God, the divine council, the gods of the nations, go the way of world mythologies. What remains is a disenchanted faith, a distant God in a vacant cosmos, with nothing to say to a world that needs to be re-enchanted.

This workbook is an intro and guided recovery of the Bible’s own supernatural worldview. Six principles trace Scripture’s story, one uncreated God presiding over a real council of spiritual beings, the nations entrusted to those powers at Babel, their rebellion, the King enthroned above all, and a Gospel that calls the world to allegiance. Six responses then answer the most common questions about the Divine Council Worldview, from the charge of polytheism to appeals to church tradition.

The Divine Council Worldview is not a new theology. It is the recovery of the original, the world of the biblical writers, their first audiences, and the earliest church.
